Third quarter earnings rose for Weight Watchers International (NYSE: WTW) to surpass analyst estimates. OfficeMax (NYSE: OMX) reported sharply higher third quarter earnings that beat expectations.On the downside THQ (Nasdaq: THQI) narrowed second quarter losses but the video game developer postponed the release of three new titles. Responsys (Nasdaq: MKTG) reported higher third quarter earnings but the results fell short of analyst expectations and the company forecast current quarter results below estimates. Hecla Mining (NYSE: HL) fell to a loss for the third quarter. In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of nearly 5 to 2 on the NYSE and by more than 5 to 3 on Nasdaq. The Russell 2000 which tracks small cap stocks gained 6 points to 825.
