Acoustic Fields Introduces The Personal Listening Environment-A Room Within A Room
PR Log - Mar 19, 2012 - Acoustic Fields, a manufacturer of high end room acoustic technology, introduces the PLE which stands for Personal Listening Environment. The Personal Listening Environment (PLE), is designed to address all the acoustical issues small rooms produce and that get in the way of a quality musical presentation. The magic is in the music but most rooms are not designed to let you here it all.The PLE is a room within a room that uses your existing room and the PLE technology to produce a balanced musical presentation for all your music playback sources from CD to vinyl.
The walls are freestanding panels specially designed to deal with low frequency absorption issues. Each wall panel has a different frequency range of low frequency absorber built into it. The inside of each wall unit houses Acoustic Fields' proprietary activated carbon (charcoal) technology. The surface of each wall panel includes Acoustic Fields' own foam technology adjusted by applying different foam thicknesses to different wall panels within the room so that maximum reflection control occurs at the listening position.
The ceiling system floats above the freestanding panels and includes a combination of diffusion and absorption technology positioned to maximize the energy control through the use of two fields of diffusion and absorption from the ceiling room surfaces at the listening position. The ceiling accounts for 20% of what we hear at the listening position. LED computer controlled lighting is provided throughout the ceiling system to provide even room light distribution. The whole system can be assembled with a simple socket set. No hammers,screws, or nails are needed.
Assemble the ceiling , freestanding, support frame and then insert the provided ceiling diffusion and absorption technology panels into the frame per room layout diagram. Install the LED lighting modules in the ceiling system where you desire light. Simply move the wall panels into your existing room, underneath the already installed ceiling system, leaving the determined distance between the existing walls of your room and your new PLE units. Place the units side by side and secure together with provided hardware.This arrangement of a room within a room adds to the bass energy control to make the bass sound in your new room tight and controlled. It also allows for all wall surface reflection control at the walls and ceiling. Place the one chair in the room where it was designed to be. Sit in the chair and listen.
All the energy of the room has been acoustically focused on the listening position. The bass, middle, and high frequencies have all been acoustically handled through the PLE in wall and ceiling technology. A sound stage is created in front of our one chair. A sound stage full of every vocal and instrument with distinct separation and position. One can point to the drummer or guitarist. There is a separation between the vocals and instruments that mimics real life. Bass notes are clearly defined and layered. It is literally a stage of sound that has a height, width, and depth to it.
Our sound stage is wider than our speakers. It is taller and deeper than our speakers and in some cases our room. It is a room designed to take you out of the front row and place you on the sound stage with the musicians. It is an environment where one can shut the door and leave this world for a brief moment in time and space and make an emotional connection to one's favorite music. It is just you and the music.
