PR Log - Jul 27, 2011 - To generate repeat business and entice meeting attendees to return to Scottsdale as a leisure visitor, the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau is launching the Come to Work, Come Back to Play (on us!) promotion. The campaign is designed to give meeting attendees a complimentary night stay on a return trip after attending a meeting at a participating hotel or resort.
Repeat visitors are particularly valuable to Scottsdale’s tourism industry as they spend 12 percent more per night than first-time visitors, according to research conducted by the Scottsdale bureau.
“We often hear from meeting attendees that they fall in love with Scottsdale while in town for an event and would like to come back for a family vacation,” said Brent DeRaad, the bureau’s executive vice president. "This campaign is designed to influence meeting planners to consider Scottsdale for their next event, while a planner can use the program to attract more attendees, and our resorts and hotels have the opportunity to generate additional revenue from repeat guests.”
How it Works
The Come to Work, Come Back to Play (on us!) promotion is available for meetings with non-commissionable rates with a minimum of 25 room nights booked on peak night at a participating property through the Scottsdale bureau. Each attendee will receive a certificate from the host hotel to stay two nights and receive the third night free from May through September within one year of the meeting. The promotion is available to new meetings booked by June 30, 2012, and that actualize by Dec. 31, 2012.
The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau is responsible for marketing Scottsdale as a premier travel destination to national and international target audiences, including meeting planners, travel agents, tour operators, and individual tourists.
