China's PPI For Manufactured Goods Down 5.9%, CPI Down 1.1% Year Over Year During First Half of 2009

BEIJING--July 21, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In the first half of 2009, China's producer price index (PPI) for manufactured goods dropped 5.9% year over year. Of which, prices for raw materials, fuels and power dropped 8.7% year over year; The Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped 1.1% year over year. This includes CPI in urban areas dropped 1.3% and 0.6% in rural area. The price of foodstuffs dropped 0.3%, the price of clothes dropped 2.4% and the price of education and services dropped 0.7%, according to the Instant Statistic Report of the National Bureau of Statistics of China announced on July 17, 2009.
