Elan rallies as J&J to invest $1 billion-plus

Johnson & Johnson plans to make a $1 billion investment in Irish drugmaker Elan . in exchange for commercial rights to its experimental Alzheimerâ€™s disease medications, and will further fund development efforts in this area up to $500 million.
