Google's Cloud Rains on Microsoft's Parade
Once upon a time computer systems were nothing but dumb terminals hooked to mainframes. The systems were expensive. Then came the PC revolution and that quickly put more computing power on desktops than the Apollo astronauts had in the first moon landing in 1969. Google (GOOG) may be planning to change the world - again. The Next Big Thing looks like a trip back to the future and it's called "cloud computing." There's chatter that Google plans to offer a service that would enable users to tap into their personal files from an Internet connection anywhere in the world. ...
