Sumco Corp. cuts net profit outlook by 44%

Sumco Corp., the word's second-largest maker of silicon wafers for semiconductors by market share, on Wednesday cut its net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending Jan. 31 and said it would slash capital spending by about 80% in the fiscal year which gets underway next month.
