Two Ways To Play: Will Consumers Flip Over New Blackberry?
Yesterday it was Apple’s (AAPL) new iPods. Today it’s Research In Motion’s (RIMM) new flip BlackBerry Pearl. According to Bloomberg it’s RIMM’s first ever flip phone and the new model won’t be available until later this year. A specific release date and price weren’t disclosed. RIMM is facing mounting pressure in the smartphone market with Apple’s iPhone and the company is trying to extend beyond the business segment and get more diversification with the consumer.
