CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--July 10, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Chilean engineering firm Kas (Santiago, Chile) has presented an environmental impact study for a 500-megawatt (MW) windfarm, to be built in the Ovalle community in the Coquimbo region of Chile. Eolica Talinay S.A. windfarm will be equipped with 243 Vestas (CPH:VWS) (Randers, Denmark) wind turbines ranging from 2 MW to 3 MW of capacity each. The project will require an estimated $1 billion and will be connected to Chile's central SIC grid. In addition, Endesa, a subsidiary of Enersis S.A. ( NYSE:ENI ) (Santiago, Chile), is awaiting approval for the Canela II complex, which will include 46 new wind turbines next to the existing Canela 18.15-MW wind park.
