Two Thermal Power Plants Begin Operation in Quake-Hit Sichuan Province

BEIJING--July 3, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Unit 2 of the Guodian Dazhou Power Plant passed a 168-hour trial operation on June 26. So far, the two 300-megawatt (MW) coal-fired units planned in Phase I of the Guodian Dazhou Power Plant have been put into commercial operation. Two days later, Unit 32 of the Bashu Jiangyou Power Plant was successfully re-connected to the grid after 48 days of forced shutdown due to the magnitude-8 earthquake that occurred on May 12.
