Here is todays press clipping.... Outlook for tech spending worsens Research firm Forrester expects spending on information technology to grow just 2.8% this year, down from earlier forecast of 4.6%. February 11 2008: 4:29 AM EST BOSTON (AP) http://money.cnn.com/2008/02/11/technology/spending_outlook.a... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is what I have been pounding on for weeks now!!!! INTC, AMD, DELL, AAPL, MSFT, IBM, HPQ are all smoking crack when they say they will have double digit revenue growth. Computer spending and networking speding are not the same though. Computer spending is dependent on a scare an unemployed labor force plus a contracting corporate world. Networking spending however is dependent on the telecoms spending money. But the reporter is doing the nateral thing and what the rest of the world will do to. AP has over stepped the boundires of the technology recession. I do believe the computer companies are going to pull the networking down some. You will probably be able to buy companies like NT, CSCO, and ALU for 5 to 12% less than what they are going for today. Might as well wait for the sale. But the telecoms are borrowing the cheap money that the feds have created and that borrowed money will be spent. Time your buy on the networking companies right and you can make a good killing. Watch them closely and wait for the moving averages to show buying momentium and you can make good money with limited risks. Or buy the networking companies and short the computer companies and you will make money on relative strength.
