Parent Imaginova Acquires Comic Book Site Newsarama
Science media company Imaginova, the parent company of, and, is acquiring comic book site The acquisitions takes Imaginova out of its traditional science realm, but the company sees plenty of crossover in terms of audience (the geek audience, I suppose, or as they phrase it: “expands the brand’s reach into the ‘intellectually curious’ target audience"). Imaginova, which started off as, before changing its name in 2004, raised $15 million last year, in part to fund acquisitions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
