Unity Wireless Corporation (OTCBB: UTYW) this week launched its new line of tower mounted wireless network coverage enhancement amplifiers (TMAs) and multiplexers to a tier-one provider market short on competitive offerings due to recent industry consolidation. A major European carrier, among the first to trial the new line, commented on the superior noise figure and rejection performance, elements which can make a very significant difference in the performance of the cellular network.
"One major North American carrier informed us that they purchased 150,000 TMAs last year alone. With market consolidations reducing supplier alternatives to only two or three choices for most major networks, carriers were supportive of Unity's new line and the alternative it gives them," commented Ilan Kenig, President and CEO of Unity Wireless.
Mr. Kenig continued, "Not only does the line show superior technical performance, but our experience and our facilities, already manufacturing for highly competitive Asian markets, have allowed us to offer the new line at a price advantage over the competition."
An additional benefit Unity's new line brings to the tier-one carrier market is that the company is now one of the only manufacturers of TMAs, Bias-Ts, PDUs, and Multiplexers which is independent of an antenna manufacturer. This fact gives the carriers greater choice and competitive pricing on, what is often, a major subcomponent expense.
