RoomLinX (PINKSHEETS: RMLX), a leading provider of wireless and wired Internet solutions to the hospitality industry, today announced that it has partnered with JiWire (www.jiwire.com) to launch an advertising program across its hotel customer network. JiWire will power this launch with its robust advertising platform and experienced Wi-Fi advertising sales force. RoomLinX currently supports over 36,000 hotel rooms throughout the US, Canada, and Europe.
The program will serve advertising on login screens and during Wi-Fi sessions, enabling advertisers to efficiently reach an attractive audience at known venues. More importantly, this program allows RoomLinX to generate additional revenues from the growth of Wi-Fi hotel rooms under management.
Highly Desirable, Highly Targeted Demographic
The RoomLinX advertising program connects advertisers with a pre-qualified audience of affluent mobile professionals. According to an online survey conducted by JiWire earlier this year, 77% of Wi-Fi users have annual household incomes of more than $50,000, and 55% of users identify themselves as C-level executives, vice presidents or other senior managers. Further, 67% plan to purchase high-end mobile computing products in the next twelve months. This attractive audience is growing rapidly: the European Commission estimates that there are currently more than 125 million Wi-Fi users worldwide and that there will be more than 500 million Wi-Fi users worldwide by 2009.
The RoomLinX advertising program is configured to deliver location-specific advertising and to provide sophisticated tracking of advertising performance, giving advertisers unprecedented control over their advertising campaigns. The network will enable both geographic targeting, in which different advertisements are delivered to various regions, states, cities, hotels, and convention centers.
"This launch is an important step in showing shareholders and customers that we are executing on our strategy of leveraging our existing network to create additional revenue streams and value added services," said Michael Wasik, CEO of RoomLinX. "Partnering with a leading Wi-Fi company like JiWire is the first of new relationships the company expects to develop with network and media companies."
