Trade Winds Ventures Inc. (TSX-V: TWD) (FRANKFURT: TVR) is pleased to report on a statistical review of all diamond drill hole composite data previously reported from the M Zone Corridor on both the Block A and Gowest Properties at Detour Lake, Ontario for which a NI 43-101 resource estimate is anticipated in late October, 2006.
Based on a total to date of 205 diamond drill holes, including 58 historical Placer Dome holes, all of which have tested the M Zone Structural Corridor over a 4.0 kilometre strike length, Trade Winds has obtained the following values:
* 68% returned a minimum value of at least 10.0 grams/tonne gold over at least 1.0 metre (0.29 oz/ton gold over 3.28 feet) * 33% returned a minimum value of at least 25.0 grams/tonne gold over at least 1.0 metre (0.73 oz/ton gold over 3.28 feet) * 10% returned a minimum value of at least 50.0 grams/tonne gold over at least 1.0 metre (1.45 oz/ton gold over 3.28 feet)
With drilling having focused on the M Zone, no diamond drilling has yet been conducted by Trade Winds on the original Main Zone stratigraphy, from which Placer Dome produced over 1.5 million ounces of gold from both open pit and underground operations on the adjacent Mine Property. The Main Zone stratigraphy trends from the Mine Property across the entire length of Block A, is known to occur for over 1.0 kilometre on Trade Winds' Gowest ground, and remains open to the west. Trade Winds' personnel will be proposing diamond drilling to test the Main Zone stratigraphy on Block A, to be initiated during the winter 2007 drilling program.
On Trade Wind's 100 percent owned Gowest Project at Detour Lake in Ontario, diamond drilling continues with work under way on Section 12740E testing the M Zone mafic/ultramafic contact. Upon completion of the next wedged hole, the drill rig will be moved off this section to further test the M Zone to the west and in close proximity to the inferred western nose fold of the greenstone belt.
Mr. Lorne Warner, P. Geo., is the qualified person for the Trade Winds Detour Lake projects and worked for Placer Dome at Detour Lake from 1992-1996. Trade Winds, as operator of the projects, has implemented a quality control program to ensure best practices in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. All fire assay results are being provided by ALS Chemex, North Vancouver, BC, an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
