Logging more than 2 million hits in the first part of October and more than 9 million during September, ZAP (NYSE Arca: ZP) is celebrating its 12th anniversary by launching a new website today, October 13, to expand its reach on the Internet. The new website is under the same URL www.zapworld.com.
ZAP has worked with several specialized companies to develop the new website, changing the layout now with a flash intro, implementing software that allows faster editing and translations to several languages, making the shopping system more efficient and allowing visitors to become zapworld.com members. Customers instantly track orders, make wish lists and return to browse with the same login. ZAP says it has set up these strategic partnerships to provide easier navigation, up to date information and more efficiency to those who visit zapworld.com.
"ZAP sees the Internet as a powerful tool to position the company as a strong and advanced energy transportation company in the global marketplace," says ZAP CEO Steve Schneider. "The new website helps us offer more personalized and quicker service to people that have even more access to Internet and e-commerce today, and we want to build on the growing relevance of Internet."
According to a recent report from Pew Internet & American Life Project, 73 percent of respondents of the survey or 147 million adults are Internet users, and the number of people who said the Internet has improved their ability to shop has doubled from 16 to 32 percent since March 2001.
One of the first companies in the world to launch online sales for its products, ZAP currently features the only and affordable all electric city car available in the market today. The XEBRA, which comes in two models, a sedan and pickup truck, plugs into any standard socket and has 90 percent less emissions than regular gasoline cars.
ZAP has been a leader in advanced transportation technologies since 1994, delivering nearly 100,000 vehicles to consumers in more than 75 countries. ZAP is at the forefront of fuel-efficient transportation with new technologies including energy efficient gas systems, hydrogen, electric, fuel cell, alcohol, hybrid and other innovative power systems.
