Caspian International Oil Corporation ("CIOC") (OTCBB: CIOC) today announced Lindell (Lin) E. Montgomery has been named president of CIOC, effective immediately. CIOC operates an oil field in Western Kazakhstan, and provides seismic surveys and other oil field services to petroleum industry customers in Kazakhstan and in other Asian countries.
Mr. Montgomery will report to CIOC's CEO and Chairman of the Board, Professor Nurlan Janseitov. As president, Mr. Montgomery will manage Caspian International Oil's operations and international business development. In addition, he will monitor CIOC's SEC compliance issues and manage its proactive corporate communications plan.
Mr. Montgomery, commenting on his appointment, said, "I am very pleased to be joining Caspian International Oil with its extraordinary prospects for the future. Lin Montgomery is a geological engineer and a highly regarded veteran in the petroleum industry, with more than thirty years' experience in management. He led the first modern 3D survey in Kazakhstan. Since 1999 Mr. Montgomery has been a Director of Seis Pros, Inc. (Houston, Texas), a private geophysical seismic data acquisition company, and from 1997 to 1999 he was Chairman and CEO of Geotex, a private New York investment firm which held a controlling interest in Geotex, a geophysical company in Kazakhstan. Geotex formed an oil exploration joint venture with Amerada Hess of New York in which Amerada Hess was the operator.
Mr. Montgomery, from 1994 to 1996, was General Manager of Pepe International, Almaty, Kazakhstan, where he worked with various ministries in development and redevelopment of local infrastructure. From 1989 to 1994, he was Marketing Manager of Halliburton Geophysical Services Inc., focused on the former states of the USSR. In that position, he negotiated joint ventures in Siberia and Kazakhstan. Mr. Montgomery served on the board of a Soviet joint venture on Sakhalin Island for hydrocarbon exploration in the Chukchi Sea (1990), with his marketing efforts enabling Halliburton's entry into Siberia and Turkmenistan. From 1957 to 1989, Mr. Montgomery performed multiple career assignments with Geophysical Service Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Texas Instruments, Inc. Mr. Montgomery earned his B.Sc., Geological Engineering from St. Louis University.
