Outbid (www.outbid.com), which combines the theater and transparency of live online auctions with social and gaming features, is honored to partner with Angelwish.org to kick-off the organization’s “O4C (Outbid 4 Charities) Day of Difference”, Wednesday, June 5th.
“Traditional fundraising events often require a significant investment of time and money. However, by taking advantage of the opportunity to connect socially and globally online, non-profits can now channel those resources more efficiently and effectively,” said Amy Harich, Outbid’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Outbid’s vision for O4C Day of Difference is to bring in the final element that is often missing with online charity auctions, and that is the presence of a live host engaging with the audience via a live connection. The opportunity to educate, inspire and create the highest impact is unmatched.”
Designed to deliver maximum value, O4C dedicates the first Wednesday of every month as a Day of Difference. Select time-slots are opened to top sellers, giving them the chance to donate a percentage of their proceeds to their charity of choice. Additionally, each month Outbid will showcase several charities to which it will make a donation of $1 per charity auction attendee. The chosen cause will also have the opportunity to host a live, online, fundraising event during the "prime time" Wednesday time-slot in their respective time zone. 100-percent of the proceeds, from all auctioned items that are secured by the hosting showcase charity, will go directly to the cause. Further, Outbid will also purchase goods to be auctioned off with 20-percent of those proceeds benefitting the showcase charities.
“The result is a Day of Difference on Outbid with multiple worthy causes raising significant contributions for a minimal amount of effort—all while having a lot of fun and inspiring others,” explained Harich. “We are thrilled to officially launch our first program with Angelwish, an organization committed to granting wishes for millions of children who are living with chronic illnesses.”
As the kick-off showcase charity, Angelwish will host their online auction on June 5th at 8pm EST. Featured items will include rare estate jewelry, a zipline rider set, and a rare opportunity to be Angelwish’s guest at a NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony.
“While the concept of O4C is simple, the impact is limitless. Angelwish is extremely excited to be named as the showcase charity for the launch of such an innovative program,” said Shimmy Mehta, Angelwish’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “We are proud to be using all proceeds raised to fund a ‘Giving Spree’ experience: beginning with one group of children learning about the importance of giving back and ending with another group of children experiencing the joy of having a wish fulfilled.”
