Chef's-Eye View of Culinary Cleveland: a Fresh Experience at the Historic West Side Market
Downtown Cleveland Hotel Creates Unforgettable Culinary Adventures

CLEVELAND, OH -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/13 -- The at-home chef and serious gourmet alike may now reserve the unique Fresh Market hotel package for a hands-on chef-guided exploration of one of Cleveland's best culinary resources, the local flavors at the West Side Market. This limited package engagement is offered seasonally on available weekends May through November at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland.

The experience pampers guests with the first-class attentive service for which the downtown Cleveland hotel is known and pairs that with a one of a kind visit to the renowned West Side Market. Each weekend has a different feel, as the tour of the market and the personalized meal that follow are tailored to each participating guest.

The hotel package begins with a Friday night stay in one of the elegant Club Level guest rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland. Guests are greeted by a bottle of fine wine, cheese and a Ritz-Carlton market bag upon their arrival as well as have access to The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge with continuous food and beverage offerings. In the morning, The Ritz-Carlton's Chef meets the guests to enjoy a light breakfast in The Club Lounge while reviewing the day's events, getting to know the guests and discussing food preferences. Then it's off to the market!

Led by the luxury Cleveland hotel's Chefs, participants have the opportunity to get acquainted with some of the best produce, meats, spices and ethnic specialties from the Cleveland area during their tour and chef's-eye view of the West Side Market. Walking from vendor to vendor, guests survey the fresh seasonal flavors, examine the diverse cuts of meat, sample foods that peak their interest, talk one-on-one with the purveyors and discuss preparation methods. The hand-selected ingredients will then become the afternoon's specially prepared Fresh Market lunch.

After returning to the hotel, guests have the chance to either suit up in Ritz-Carlton aprons and assist the culinary team as they create the memorable Fresh Market lunch or to unwind in their guest rooms before reconvening for the special lunch for two in MUSE restaurant. The Fresh Market three-course meal will feature the items purchased during the morning's market visit accompanied by MUSE specialties and complemented by select wines. Prior to their departure, guests will have their personal market purchases washed, wrapped and ready to take home to enjoy.
