Amid a cinema landscape of syrupy rom-coms and warm-bodied zombies that live happily ever after, director Christian Charles (Jerry Seinfeld's Comedian, Cheech & Chong's Hey Watch This), in his latest film LOVE SICK LOVE, offers up a film for the romantically challenged. In the spirit of Fatal Attraction and Swimming with Sharks but for the dating world -- a New York businessman's tryst turns deadly when he is teamed with a psychotic serial romantic in this boy-meets-girl thriller that propels the term "love hurts" to a whole new level.
Dori, a sexy siren, traps Norman, a slick playboy, and forces him to live through a year of holidays to prove they're a perfect couple. But with Dori, Valentine's Day, Christmas and New Year's celebrations take place over one weekend in an isolated country house far from help or a cell phone tower. The feature stars Matthew Settle (Gossip Girl) and Swedish actress Katia Winter (Dexter), who are joined by Charlotte Rae (The Facts of Life) as Grandma Edna, and M. Emmet Walsh (Blood Simple) as Grandpa Ed, along with Jim Gaffigan (Away We Go, Going the Distance) as Settle's business partner.
The feature is theatrically distributed by mouseROAR with cross-platform online, DVD and VOD by Freestyle Releasing and Monarch Home Entertainment. LOVE SICK LOVE is produced by Anne Estonilo and Christian Charles and executive produced by Eric Matejevich. Ryan Oxford wrote the original screenplay.
