PR Log - Apr 03, 2013 - Saturday Audio Exchange (SAE), Chicagoland’s preeminent retailer of high-quality new and used audio and home theatre components, announces their 31st anniversary in business by hosting a store-wide sale in addition to some special events to appeal to music lovers everywhere.

From April 13 – 28, 2013, the Belmont Avenue store will feature many items up to 31% off; and most floor models marked down to never before seen savings. There are limited quantities on all merchandise.

In addition to the sale, the store will host two events as follows:

Thursday, April 18 – 5:30pm – 9:00pm - What’s New in Computer Audio?

With everyone streaming music and video, digital-to-analog converters (DAC’s), cables, headphones, amps and other accessories are becoming more sophisticated and affordable.

Representatives from Audioquest and Sonos will be on hand to showcase and discuss some of their latest products and technologies.

Saturday, April 20, 10:30am – 5:30 pm – Turntable Clinic in association with National Record Store Day

Customers can bring in their turntables for a checkup that will include alignment, balancing the tone arm, checking the needle, cartridge and rca plugs, in addition to evaluating the general operation including a speed check.

“We’re proud to have survived as a Chicago small business all these years and want to show our appreciation to our loyal customers” said Andy Zimmerman, owner of Saturday Audio Exchange.  “While technologies have certainly changed our business, what remains the same is that people truly love listening to music on great audio equipment in their home or place of business. The industry continues to grow and no matter what your budget is, we can find you some great equipment.”

In 1982, Zimmerman opened the first SAE on Clark Street in Chicago, staying open for only a few hours a week.  It’s a simple idea that stuck, putting the audio store in a niche of its own.  Having limited hours is part of their unique marketing strategy that allows the store to maximize sales and minimize overhead, hence the low prices.  The store offers new, factory-sealed merchandise in addition to slightly blemished factory seconds, demonstration models, overstocks and guaranteed used equipment.  It is one of the best sources for hard-to-find turntables, which the store also rebuilds.  The store is one of the few in the region that accepts and offers trade-ins, an important niche for audiophiles constantly upgrading their equipment.

“Our store caters to people with champagne tastes and ‘beer budgets’,” notes Zimmerman.  “We’ve stayed true to who we are offering low prices and good value.  It’s been 31 incredible years and we hope to have many more.”

Saturday Audio Exchange is located at 1021 W. Belmont, Chicago, IL  60657.  Store hours are Thursday evening from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm; Saturday from 10:30 am – 5:30 pm; and Sunday from noon to 4:00 pm.  They can be reached at 773-935-HIFI (4434) or by visiting their website at http://www.saturdayaudio.com.
