(Kitco News) - Gold prices are modestly lower in early trading Thursday as the market place has a close eye on developments in Cyprus and the European Union. A batch of U.S. economic data due for release Thursday also could move the metals markets. April Comex gold last traded down $5.60 at $1,600.60 an ounce. Spot gold was last quoted down $4.50 at $1,601.50. May Comex silver last traded down $0.032 at $28.58 an ounce.
