Stocks Up After Fed; Carriage Services At New High
Stocks extended their gains Wednesday afternoon, with the Dow Jones industrial average hitting a new record high, after the Federal Reserve vowed to keep its benchmark interest rate near zero to support the economy. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 each remained up 0.8%. The Dow Jones industrial average moved 0.6% higher.
