AmericaFirst Capital Management Announces its return to the Unit Investment Trust market

AmericaFirst Capital Management has announced its return to the unit investment trust market. The company is targeting the launch of its first unit investment trust in the second quarter of 2013. Rick Gonsalves, AmericaFirst's Founder and Portfolio Manager, commented on the announcement; "Unit investment trusts are a passion for this company and the foundation for our original business when we acted as a sub advisor for a number of successful UITs.  We plan to introduce to financial advisors a series of innovative, proprietary UIT investment strategies to provide them with the tools to better serve their clients' investment objectives."

AmericaFirst Capital Management is a manager of mutual funds and separately managed accounts (SMAs).  The firm creates quantitative, rules-based investment strategies and products that seek to rely on consistent and recurring historical trends in an attempt to generate Alpha.[i] The firm had previously acted as sub advisor to several UITs in a variety investment strategies created by Mr. Gonsalves. Historical UIT performance is available at www.americafirstfunds.com (or click here).

Mr. Gonsalves further commented, "AmericaFirst was built by advisors for advisors. In developing our UIT strategic plan, we surveyed many of our clients to determine their product and asset allocation needs. From their feedback, we created a UIT vehicle that includes several innovative investment strategies that advisors need, but cannot find."

PAST PERFORMANCE DOES NOT GUARANTEE FUTURE RETURNS

[i] Alpha is one of five technical risk ratios; the others are beta, standard deviation, R-squared, and the Sharpe ratio. These are all statistical measurements used in modern portfolio theory (MPT). All of these indicators are intended to help investors determine the risk-reward profile of a mutual fund. Simply stated, alpha is often considered to represent the value that a portfolio manager adds to or subtracts from a fund's return.
