"The experience comes first and the perfect dress will follow," says Nancy Aucone , co-founder of The Wedding Salon of Manhasset.
'The experience' has two principles at its core: unwavering hospitality and dedicated expertise. "Hospitality and experience are our hallmarks," adds Susan Finale, co-founder of The Wedding Salon of Manhasset."Shopping for a wedding dress is a celebration. It's a high point of lifeand we want every bride and her family to savor it to the fullest. The chosen gown is the culmination of a collaboration."
The marriage of hospitality and expertise
At The Wedding Salon of Manhasset, appointments are carefully scheduled so that there is never a hurried or crowded atmosphere. Relaxation reigns and every bride is given the full complement of focused attention and time that she needs from an expert bridal consultant.
"It's a very warm, comfortable environment and they want you to take as much time as possible," says Sivan Zaitchik, a bride who recently purchased her gown at The Wedding Salon of Manhasset. She also appreciated the consultants' expertise. "You want someone who knows dresses and is willing to give input. I had the best experienceand I tell all my friends to go there!"
The quality starts at the top, with partners Nancy Aucone and Susan Finale, who bring unparalleled experience to their business. Aucone previously was president of The Wedding Dress at Saks Fifth Avenue and co-president of Kleinfeld. Finale was vice president and head of bridal at Kleinfeld. Both worked with the original family for more than 20 years before the business was sold.
Hedda Kleinfeld Schacter , a legend in the bridal business who founded Kleinfeld with her husband, admires what the partners have achieved at The Wedding Salon of Manhasset. "They have an extremely keen eye for fashion and what is right for the individual. They have fabulous taste and turn out a beautiful bride," she comments. In addition, "They are very involved with their customers and do business the way it's not often done todayrather the way it used to be."
A "gallery" for designer gowns
Nancy Aucone and Susan Finale launched The Wedding Salon of Manhasset in 1996 to enable brides to find "Madison Avenue quality" in a location that is more convenient for many brides and their families. In 2008 they were selected to launch the first Vera Wang Bridal shop on Long Island, offering the complete range of bridal lines from the renowned designer.
During spring 2012, the partners moved to an expanded space that offers even greater opportunity for brides to have the shopping experience of a lifetime. Located at 1468 Northern Boulevard, the Salon is more than 10,000 square feetpresenting a spacious venue for the still-intimate customer service experience. The new location also includes a chic Vera Wang Bridal "shop within a shop" on the first floor.
"We wanted to create a state-of-the-art wedding gown showcase that is unique in the metropolitan areaa must-see for brides," says Aucone, "Our new space embodies the feel of an art gallery for wedding gowns, with more than 100 dresses on display. We have a very sophisticated, fashion-forward clientele, so we wanted to give them a chance to personally view more of the gowns."
The selection includes the most sought-after designer lines, many of which are offered exclusively on Long Island by The Wedding Salon of Manhasset. Designers include: Amsale, Anne Barge , Anna Maier , Austin Scarlett , Monique LHuillier , Christos, Carolina Herrera , Edgardo Bonilla , Kenneth Pool , Lazaro, Marchesa, Marisa, Milady, Pronovias, Reem Acra,Romana Keveza , Rivini, Vera Wang , Victor Harper Couture , Victoria Nicole , and Watters.

They listen to us, they are attentive, and they provide honest feedback." She adds, "I really feel like they are part of the wedding. My mom and sister love the team as well."
Risa Fogel , the mother of a bride, explains that "Reputation brought us to The Wedding Salon of Manhasset. Most of my daughter's friends shopped here and they were very pleased with their gowns. The selection is magnificent, and they are very accommodating. You can go for fittings in the evening, and the seamstresses are excellent."
After a gown is chosen, the expert alteration team ensures that it is fitted to perfection.
