"We're very excited about this launch," says HyperDevBox founder and CEO Carlo Perconti. "By porting 'BlazingSouls- Accelate' on iOS platforms, we believe we will meet iPhone and iPad users' expectations and expand our target audience considerably."
Blazing Souls Accelate is the latest installment inthe Spectral Souls series. Originally released on Playstation Platform (PSP), it was designed by Tokyo studio Idea Factory and ported by HyperDevbox.
The iOS version of Blazing Souls Accelate features vastly improved graphics; the developers used high-resolution textures wherever possible. The game also contains high-quality Japanese anime-style movies, with the game's story and dialogue almost fully voiced in English. Perconti explains that the content in "BlazingSouls- Accelate" is suited to being played on a high-definition TV. "That's why we made it AirPlay compatible," says Perconti. "We also added an option of selecting the frame rate so that anyone playing Blazing Souls- Accelate on Apple TV can enjoy an optimal experience."
"Blazing Souls - Accelate is simply an awesome tactical RPG," says Perconti. "Spectral Souls was a huge hit, and this sequel to Spectral Souls has been much anticipated."
"BlazingSouls- Accelate" is a long and deep tactical RPG game, which, Perconti notes, is a genre that is still under-represented on iOS. "Being a console-quality game, its size, which is about 1GB, makes it one of the largest applications on this platform," he says. "It's a universal application," says Perconti, "meaning that it is optimized to run on all iOS devices."
Blazing Souls Accelate takes the player back to the war-weary world of Neverland, several decades after the end of the Seven Years' War, when peace has finally begun to take hold. It is in this time of relative tranquility that independent contractor Zelos, after being involved in a freak accident, comes into possession of a crystal called a "Core Elemental", which is infused with incredible levels of magical energy. Almost as soon as it falls into his hands, Zelos is besieged by a number of mysterious beings intent on taking the power of the Elemental for their own. As he is forced to fight for his life, the mysteries surrounding his birth - and his past - slowly come to light. What secrets still wait to be discovered as he comes to the end of his struggle for survival?
The prequel to Blazing Souls Accelate, "Spectral Souls - Resurrection of the Ethereal Empires" has been a huge hit with iOS users and Perconti stresses that HyperDevbox will continue its support for the platform. "Our iOS users have been very supportive of us," he says, "and we wanted to be able to bring the 'Blazing Souls- Accelate' experience to iPhone and iPad users who have been waiting for this for a long time."
He adds, "This is very cool news for gamers looking for high-quality games on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch." And if HyperDevbox's recent history is any indication, this latest release from the small, but accomplished gaming studio is positioned to be the next "must-have" RPG for users of Apple devices everywhere.
