Conoco To Drill In Arctic Despite Shell's Setbacks
The Arctic has been an inhospitable place for oil drillers in recent years. Royal Dutch Shell (RDSA) has been struggling to turn a profit in the polar region but despite its competitor's setbacks ConocoPhillips (COP) announced plans Friday to drill in the frigid waters in 2014. The oil giant said it would look for oil in the Devils Paw in the Chukchi Sea, off northwestern Alaska. The plans currently are under review by the Bureau of Ocean Energy
