About Marian Lanouette
Marian Lanouette was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. With a degree in Accounting she worked many years in that field, constantly thinking of her first love—writing. Taking the long road to publishing she now enjoys writing full-time.
Writing mysteries with romantic elements in her opinion blends the best of both worlds.
Marian's first book in the series If I Fail is also available online as is her newest romantic suspense As the World Ends.
A page turner with a twist: I enjoyed Burn in Hell, the second in the Jake Carrington detective series, as much as I did Ms. Lanouette's first in the series (If I fail). As usual, her attention to detail and authenticity shines through a freshly plotted story, with well-drawn characters. Jake, I loved right from the beginning as a strong, steady, do-the-right-thing kind of guy caught between mending a broken relationship and his growing fondness for the addicted gambler, Kyra. Jake doesn't realize Kyra is working for kinky mob boss Phil to pay off her debts and keep her son safe until all clues point to Kyra. I chewed my fingernails during the cat and mouse game between Jake and Kyra and got goose bumps every time Kyra encountered the creepy mob boss, Phil. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a page turning read with a twist. Joy Smith, author (MuseItUp Publishing)
