UPS has installed two new solar power projects at its distribution facilities in New Jersey. The Parsipanny project was completed in fall 2012, and the Secaucus project is planned to go online this spring. Each installation is 1.2 megawatts in power, and, added to UPS’s existing solar power generating capacity, they will produce three million kilowatts of renewable energy per year. New Jersey is currently second in the U.S. for total installed capacity of solar energy technology.
JustGreen is joining with GreenWizard to offer a new application that will provide instant quotes for LEED green power credits by using JustGreen’s green power calculator. The partnership will help LEED projects achieve green power points that offset the energy consumption of a building for up to two years. JustGreen is Just Energy Group’s green energy initiative, with investments of $70 million. GreenWizard is a cloud-based product collaboration software that simplifies construction of sustainable buildings.
