A bit longer and a bit wider than the iPhone 5, Asus has announced the next-generation “Padfone Infinity”, a smartphone and tablet combo solution — a 5-inch LTE smartphone that becomes a 10.1-inch tablet.

The Padfone Infinity will be available in 32 GB and 64 GB variants with a nano-SIM card slot. It’ll retail for $1,200 and will initially launch in the United Kingdom.
Like earlier models, the PadFone will not be available in the United States.
The Pad portion of the phone, which ASUS calls the “Infinity Station”, features a 10.1-inch full HD 1,920 x 1,200-pixel display and is capable of increasing the smartphone’s battery life to 40 hours or fully recharging the docked PadFone up to three times.
Asus’ Padfone Infinity is equipped with a 5-inch (441 pixels per inch) 1080p 4G LTE smartphone that can become a 10.1-inch tablet with a 1080p display. It’s powered by a quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 2 GB of RAM, as well as an Adreno 320 GPU.
The PadFone ships with Android 4.2 and a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor with an Adreno 320 GPU. The phone features an aluminium-based unibody design and the Super IPS 5-inch screen packs in 1,920×1,080 worth of pixels, delivering a 441 ppi.
