Green Light for Scottish Kilgallioch Windfarm

GALWAY, IRELAND--February 20, 2013 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) The Scottish government has granted permission for one its largest onshore windfarm projects to ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) (Glasgow, Scotland), part of Spanish energy giant, Iberdrola SA (MCE:IBE) (Bilbao, Spain). The Kilgallioch windfarm will be located south of Barrhill in south west Scotland and will have a total generating capacity of 288-megawatts (MW), enough to power approximately 170,000 homes, when it is fully commissioned in 2016/17.
