Amazingly, BlueStacks has officially released its App Player for Windows 8, bringing with it a whopping 750,000+ Android applications for PC users running Microsoft’s operating system. Awesome!
I find it a little buggy though but Pretty cool!
I wish BlueStacks released a Windows RT version. … It’s Windows RT that needs apps, not Windows 8.
Hey here is an idea… If you want to run android apps, just get a android tablet?
Anyway…
You can download the App Player from BlueStack’s website, then install it and begin downloading your favorite Android apps.

BlueStacks’ President & CEO Rosen Sharma had this to say: “We’ve had our users asking for a Win8 version for a long time. Now that it’s finally available on our website we’re looking forward to getting feedback and building on the experience. The number of mobile apps being written overall is expanding exponentially and Microsoft has not added apps to the handful it has. Our goal is to get people more value out of their Surface Pro and Win8 devices.”
Many more apps are available for mobile devices than for desktops and laptops. Apple’s App Store contains more than 800,000 mobile apps, and Google Play offers more than 700,000.
Microsoft’s Surface Pro tablet can now access around 750,000 Android apps with an optimised version of the BlueStacks App Player, which has been tweaked for Windows 8.
