PR Log - Feb 04, 2013 - FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. -- The 3rd annual Sand Bash will be the first All-Women’s Master Sand Sculpting Championship benefiting Susan G. Komen of Southwest Florida.
The event will be 10 days long from April 5th to April 14th on beautiful Fort Myers Beach behind the Holiday Inn.
This is a remarkable first-time opportunity to see some of the world’s top women sand sculptors compete for the Blanche E. Swope Gold Cup. The women sculptors will be competing in both solo and double divisions. The sculptors represent countries such as United States, Canada, Italy, Netherlands and Australia.
An Amateur contest is scheduled for Saturday April 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Amateur contest is intended as a venue for beginning or advanced amateurs and is open to all levels except masters and professionals.
Sand Bash is currently seeking sponsorship and in-kind support for the event. Interested organizations and businesses may contact Bill Knight of The Sand Lovers, LLC. Proceeds from the event go to the Susan G. Komen of Southwest Florida and other local charities.
The event will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $5.00 per person, $18.00 for a family of 4 and kids under 5 are free.
Location and Transportion: the 3rd annual Sand Bash will be at the Holiday Inn located at 6890 Estero Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach. Attendees are encouraged to arrive from the south in order to avoid traffic congestion. Event directors have coordinated a revolving bus system to transport attendees from the Lover’s Key parking area to the site. Parking is also available in the Publix shopping center at Bonita Beach Road and U.S. 41 where the Lee County beach “Trollee” will pick up attendees.
