St. Valentine's Day appears to be the perfect time to get divorced, thanks to New York divorce lawyer Steve Brodsky.
Brodsky's law firm is offering a $99 uncontested divorce from February 1 through February 14, in honor of what he calls "Ain't Valentine's Day".
"If you've been waiting for the cost of a divorce to go down, now is the time" says Brodsky. "You will never see prices like this again."
In addition to the $99 fee, clients merely pay for the court costs, which total $335.
Even though the prices are rock-bottom, there's no skimping on service, explained Brodsky, whose divorce law website can be found at NYCDivorceCenter.com.
"We're in a service business, and new clients will still get the same great advice and attention we've provided to over 3,000 people since 2005," he said.
The entire case is handled online, and clients do not have to come into the office, making the process quick and easy.
"Most of our testimonials from former clients emphasize surprise at how streamlined and simple we made the process," said Brodsky. "I guess people are used to lawyers making things seem overly complicated, and charging accordingly," he added.
At the other end of the spectrum are so-called document preparation services, but Brodsky explained that since they are not law firms, their customers must guess about proper procedures and their legal rights , and also have to file their own papers in court.
Unlike the "doc prep" services, Brodsky said that his New York divorce law firm handles the entire process.
