On the back of a Q4 GDP -0.1% reading the first day of February reveals that the US economy added 157,000 new “Non-Farm” jobs during January. As with GDP... this was slightly lower than the forecast level (166K) and to cap it off the level of unemployment booked a small advance to 7.9%. (Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics or BLS)
