With “View From The Edge,” readers are in for an intense ride full of suspense and mental angst. Far more than just a thriller, Kasenow’s new novel offers a fascinating and revealing look into the difficulties of psychotic breakdowns, in Joshua’s case brought on by dealing with abuse from his childhood.
“View From The Edge” is an Indie Reader Discovery Award Winner!
Kasenow, like his main character, knows what it is like to survive an abusive childhood, and he felt that writing a novel was a more effective way to learn about and cope with the matter than writing a memoir. In a recent interview with Reader Views, he stated, “There’s freedom in fiction, you can say more, add characters, take the reader to new places....I don’t want to exploit psychotic pain, I want to learn from it; grow from it.” Not only has Kasenow learned and grown, but his readers have told him that they feel like Joshua’s story is their own and it resonates with their own stress and struggles in their lives. “View From The Edge” is more than a thriller—it’s also a survival story of hope.
Critics are raving about Kasenow’s novels, comparing his work to literary giants. BookReview.com states, “…[he] has the social punch of a Sinclair Lewis, the action of a Jack London adventure, and a lively sense of humor reminiscent of Mark Twain.” Best Sellers World states that Kasenow offers, “deep insights into the human psyche...Reminiscent of John Steinbeck.” IndieReader praises “View From The Edge” as “The story of one man’s tortured existence that unravels in bits and pieces until the parts come together into a cohesive picture. Solid writing!” The Feathered Quill calls “View From The Edge” “A Masterpiece of a novel!” Beck Valley Books writes: “Reading the author’s background it is evident that he has drawn on all his life experiences to produce an excellent novel. Loved the book!” And Readers Favorites says: “‘View From The Edge’ is the sort of novel that smacks you in the face. It is an immensely powerful book!
