SUGAR LAND--January 25, 2013--Researched by Industrial Information Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Canal Power Station, which is located in Sandwich, Massachusetts, shut down coal-fired units 1 and 2 after the main transformer blew in November. The two generating units have a total capacity of 1,164 megawatts when at full load. The plant is owned and operated by NRG Canal LLC, a subsidiary of NRG (NYSE:NRG) (Princeton, New Jersey).
