United, Southwest, Alaska Rise Despite Mixed Earnings

Airline stocks rose in late morning trading Thursday after several reported Q4 earnings. United Continental Holdings' (UAL) loss wasn't a great as analysts expected. Alaska Air's (ALK) earnings and revenue rose and Southwest's (LUV) EPS beat on lower fuel prices. United lost 58 cents a share, less than the 61 cents analysts were expecting.
