WellPoint EPS Tops On Lower Costs, 'Prudent' Outlook
WellPoint (WLP) reported fourth-quarter earnings above Wall Street analyst estimates on lower-than-anticipated medical costs. But the company faces many changes in 2013 with the new ObamaCare act. The second-largest U.S. HMO said Q4 EPS rose 4% to $1.03, beating analyst estimates by 8 cents. Revenue was nearly flat at $15.3 billion. Shares were up 1.5% to 64.78 in midday trading Wednesday.
