Fidelity Contrafund is huge at $84.5 billion in assets, but manager Will Danoff has still managed to outperform the broad stock market most of the time since taking the helm in September 1990. He has topped the S&P 500 in 79% of month-end rolling three-year periods, according to Morningstar Inc. You can't beat the market by hugging it.
