Brinker Sales Miss On Rising Food Costs, Shares Down
Brinker International (EAT) shares fell 2% in afternoon trading Tuesday after the operator of Chili's and Maggiano's restaurants reported second-quarter sales below forecasts. Brinker said Q2 earnings climbed 6% to 50 cents, in line with expectations. Sales rose 1% to $689.8 million, falling shy of analyst projections of $692.9 million.
