Two Dividend Stocks Removed from Recommended List – 1/18

We are removing two dividend stocks from our recommended list this morning.

Names Being Removed
Telecom giants AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ) have been solid names for us since we began recommending them a few years ago, but we are now moving to the sidelines on both names. We still like the stocks, but would hold off on putting new capital to work in either one.

Both companies could be facing headwinds this year as pension liabilities and sales growth may put a damper on dividend growth as well as share price appreciation. We prefer to hold the names and look for better entry points if and when we see the potential overhang clear up some. In the meantime, we prefer investors consider the other names featured on our recommended list.
