Banco Santander S.A. (ADR) (NYSE: SAN), a provider of a range of banking and financial products, is up sharply in mid-day trading today, extending its gains for the week. European banks have had an excellent run this week after the Basel Committee for banking supervision relaxed the liquidity requirements for bank.
At last check, SAN was trading 2.08% higher at $8.59 on volume of 1.91 million, which is well below the daily average volume of 3.28 million. The stock has gained nearly 3.5% this week. SAN has broken through $8.50 resistance level, which is a bullish signal. Technical indicators suggest that the bullish trend could continue.
