Ford To Hire 2,200 Workers, Honda Cuts Jobs In U.K.
Ford Motor (F) announced plans Friday to hire 2,200 workers in engineering and manufacturing positions. Japanese automaker Honda (HMC) said it would cut 800 jobs in the U.K. as demand in Europe weakens. Ford said 75% of the new salaried jobs will be in engineering, manufacturing and information technology. The company said this will be the largest increase in salaried workers in more than a decade.
