Best Close For S&P 500 Since '08; Wells Fargo On Deck
Stocks climbed Thursday, with the S&P 500 scoring a five-year closing high as good news from abroad painted a picture of a healing global economy. The S&P 500 added 0.8%. The index hasn't seen these levels since last September -- and it hasn't closed this high since January 2008. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 0.6%, while the Nasdaq gained 0.5%.
