Prior to the Super 25 holiday hiatus, then-No. 3 Mater Dei defeated former No. 1 St. Mary's (Phoenix) during the Dec. 18-22 Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, knocking the team out of the top three and into the No. 4 position in the first rankings of 2013.

Bishop O'Dowd, which also saw defeat at the hands of St. Mary's during the tournament, fell to the No. 20 spot in this week's rankings.
