Northwest Renewable Energy Institute Offers 6-Month Career Programs to Enter Growing Wind Industry
Vancouver, Washington (MMD Newswire) January 8, 2013 -- Green energy is in high demand, and Northwest Renewable Energy Institute's (NW REI) in-depth technical training and valuable on-the-job experience provides the tools necessary for success in this fast-growing industry. Free information regarding NW-REI's six-month career program will be given on January 8th at 7pm, January 12th at 10:30am, and January 26th at 7pm. The seminars will be held at 200 Grand Boulevard, Vancouver, WA 98661.

"The Northwest Renewable Energy Institute and its director are providing a top-notch, truly professional wind technician education program that Suzlon has and will continue to benefit from," said Willem van der Ven, Regional Service Manager for Sulzon Wind Energy Corporation. "In a fairly short amount of time, the students look, think, act and have the skill sets of a quality wind tech."

NW-REI's goal is for every individual in the program to successfully complete their education and find employment. The program was built by wind industry professionals who understand what it takes for success in the field. From day one of class, the Career Services department works to communicate opportunities and employers' needs to students.

"Shortly after graduation, I was hired by GE for Installation & Receiving," said Johnathan Palodichuk, a graduate from NW-REI. "During my time at GE's training facility, I truly realized and greatly appreciated how much I had really learned at NW-REI to prepare me and provide me the opportunity to be ahead of the curve."

Students in the program can expect support and guidance in résumé writing, interview skills, and the ultimate goal of landing the first wind energy job. Each student at NW-REI will complete six courses. In just six months, students begin with the basic knowledge of wind energy and safety, proceed into electrical, mechanical, and electronics courses, and finish with thorough education of metallurgy and the hydraulic systems that are placed within wind turbines.
