Consol sells mining properties in Canada

Consol Energy Inc. has sold metallurgical coal assets in Alberta, Canada. The Southpointe-based Consol (NYSE: CNX) sold the Ram River and Scurry Ram coal properties to Ram River Coal Corp. for $105 million and interests in other coal assets, including Grassy Mountain Surface Mine, for $24 million to Riversdale Resources in Sydney, Australia. The Ram River/Scurry Ram deals closed Dec. 21; the Grassy Mountain sale will close sometime in the second quarter.
