Stocks continued to hold modest losses in dull, pre-Christmas trading Monday. The Dow Jones industrial average, Nasdaq and S&P 500 were each off 0.3%. Turnover was tracking drastically lower on both major exchanges. Friday's quadruple witching made for a tough comparison. Also, volume tends to dry up before holidays.
