Keynote WebExcellence Scorecard Gives Leading Full Service Brokers a 300-Point Check Up

Keynote Systems (Nasdaq:KEYN), The Internet Performance Authority(R), announced today the availability of the Keynote WebExcellence Scorecard for Full Service Brokerages, a bi-annual in-depth study that examines and ranks the implementation of online best practices by leading full service broker Web sites. The Scorecard is one of three complementary industry research offerings for enhancing online competitiveness and is available for purchase.

Keynote's WebExcellence Scorecards use a framework of 300 expertly developed criteria to measure each site's design and function against industry best practices. The Scorecards evaluate sites in all areas, including in a variety of industry-specific tasks and categories, to help firms discover the strengths of their sites, as well as opportunities for improvement. Criteria are grouped into industry-specific "user tasks" (e.g., Check Accounts, Research, Learn & Plan) and "categories" (Functionality, Usability, Privacy & Security) in order to help firms identify the strengths and/or opportunities in specific areas of their sites.

The Customer Experience studies examine and rank online experience across a given set of leading Web sites by assessing the online experience of up to 2,000 or more consumers performing tasks in their natural environment as assigned by Keynote. The Service Level studies provide a deep assessment of the same set of Web sites from the perspective of technical performance including transaction responsiveness/reliability and load handling.

The A.G. Edwards (NYSE:AGE), DB Alex Brown, Edward Jones, McDonald Investments, Merrill Lynch (NYSE:MER), Smith Barney, UBS (NYSE:UBS), Wachovia Securities (NYSE:WB) and Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC) brokerage sites were included in the Keynote WebExcellence Scorecard for full service brokerage Web sites.

The Scorecard evaluated these sites against 300 objective criteria across the categories of "Functionality," "Ease of Use," "Privacy & Security" and "Quality & Availability." The Scorecard ranked the sites in specific, critical tasks, including monitoring accounts and portfolios, managing cash and positions and researching investments. Smith Barney ranked number one based on its performance across all 300 best practices, tasks and categories examined in the study.

Smith Barney topped the Scorecard in part because of its first place ranking in the "Functionality" and "Quality & Availability" categories, as well as its top placement in the "Use Accounts" and "Learn & Plan" tasks. The Wells Fargo Investments site topped the study in the "Ease of Use" and "Privacy & Security" categories, as well as the "Research" task.
